Rolling Stone List Of 15 Baseball Songs Better Than “Centerfield” Quite A Stretch
Rolling Stone just published 15 baseball songs they think are better than John Fogerty’s “Centerfield.” I agree with “Glory Days,” but otherwise, they sure use the term “baseball song” loosely, given that the likes of “Rocket Man,” “Enter Sandman” (which is used by baseball players but is itself completely unrelated to the sport), and “Sure Shot” by the Beastie Boys are on here. It makes you realize just how hard it is to write a great song that’s ENTIRELY about the sport, which is precisely what John Fogerty did.
