This movie is impressively staged, the dialogue is given proper weight and not hurried through, there are surprises which, in hindsight, seem fair enough, and “Harry Potter” now possesses an end that befits the most profitable series in movie history. These films will be around for a long time.
That’s Roger Ebert giving three and a half stars to the final Harry Potter film, and he’s not alone, as the movie has a stunning Rotten Tomatoes score of 97 percent. And given the praise it’s getting, and considering that Peter Jackson stocked his trophy case after the final “Lord of the Rings” movie, perhaps it’s fair to ask if finally this series will get some Oscar love?
