NYT decides to show off by making insane demographic map
There’s everyone else, and then there’s the NYT. And we’re proven this fact yet again with his crazy demographic map based on U.S. Census data. You can get very detailed with this thang. We think they’re just showing off this time. source
True story. This map in particular does a great job of hooking you in — I couldn’t stop toggling between the national and hyper local views. In my case, how does the Upper East Side compare to every other neighborhood where I’ve lived.

The New York Times published a gift guide for people ‘of color’ this year, with the first paragraph readin:
Somali fashion, do-it-yourself henna kits, children’s books that draw inspiration from the lives of Barack Obama and Sonia Sotomayor: it’s not hard to find gifts created for and by people of color this holiday season.
What can you look forward to? Check out “Asian Faces” or “Baby Jamz” if you don’t know what to buy for your non-white friends.
